You had to be to at work a certain time, you had to do certain functions at a set time and you had to take lunch when you were told.

When you start your own business you are accountable to you, you have the option of the don't have to mode. This is the killer for most people who transition over to a self directed business such as the Internet.

If you are aware of this and want to change it there are a few steps to start.

First, test yourself. Do your must do work at different times of the day. See what time is more productive for you. If it's evenings, mornings, after lunch, develop your daily plan around this first.

Second, when you decide on your productive time make sure everybody knows Do Not Disturb means just that. Your income will be a product of your actions and disruptions are a business destroyer especially when you are your business.

Third, this type of work can involve a lot of creating and if you go past 3-4 hours you can become counter productive. Take breaks every 2 hours or so just to refresh yourself. After you get use to the routine you can make it anyway you feel productive. Don't burn out the first month.

Until you are in a position to outsource some of your business you will be a one man show.
